What are you seeing?
The Intel® RealSense™ Depth Camera D455 shows red or pink color in the image when there is sunlight.
Why are you seeing it?
This is expected behavior for extremely bright scenes and is a saturation issue. It happens for extremely bright scenes when the sensor is set to very short exposure times for the sensor. The RGB sensor on the Intel® RealSense™ Depth Camera D455 is a global shutter and has a very good low light sensitivity to reduce blurring during fast motion indoors under most normal lighting conditions.
How to fix it:
For these extreme cases, refer to our white paper on Optical Filters for Intel RealSense Cameras and try using a ND filter (aka. sun glasses). A polarizer can also help, especially as it reduces significantly the strong light reflecting off of surfaces.
