I just bought a D455 and D457 cameras and installed the latest RealSense drivers. I was able to access D455 using the supplied USBC in the realsense-viewer. However, I am unable to access the D457 using the USBC. To my surprise, D457 was not even listed when I performed a lsusb command on my system. Here is some info about my system.
OS: Ubuntu 22.04.2
System: Dell Precision 7770 with 12th Gen Intel Core i9-12950HX x 24
RealSense viewer version: 2.53.1
If I connect the D455 and perform a lsusb then I get the following:
Bus 002 Device 015: ID 8086:0b5c Intel Corp. Intel(R) RealSense(TM) Depth Camera 455
I have tried flipping the USB-C connector on the camera and that didn't help. I also tried connecting the USB-C end first to the camera and then connecting the USB to my PC. None of these helped.
Other developers have claimed that D457 works with USBC
