Measuring dimensions of an object

No and No. Works with L515 Only. Rectangular boxes only. Your mouse is probably less than the minimum size anyway.

    For logistics it works well.

If it only works with rectangular boxes, then it does not work well for logistics. If it would also measure the items, then it would help us to determine the right size shipping boxes. By the way, mouse was just an example, it would be any item of which dimensions are more than the minimum limits.

I think that depends on your implementation. Our system already knows the weights and dimensions of each product and has an algorithm to calculate the combined HxWxD before the order comes to the dimensioner that could be used to choose a standard carton. For us the dimensioner will measure and weigh cartons after picking and scanning a barcode on the dimensioner will update the weight and dimensions in the ERP,  close out the order and generate a shipping label. eg. Based on the label we will apply to the carton at picking which I created today.

Top barcode opens the picking order, bottom barcode commits the dimensions and produces a shipping label.

A prebuilt dimensioner is around the AUD $8.5k mark so its worth experimenting with this system which I think will work for us.

So, we need to a dimensioner for the items. For the packages, we could go with L515 and Intel DWS.

We are planning to implement a similar solution. How can I contact to you directly? I would love to hear your experiences, and ask some questions.

Sure. You can use the chatbot on my website https://www.vmn.com.au/ to contact me.

Note that we do not have a working solution yet. I was unable to get C# on Windows to connect with the API code in C++ (due to conflicts with managed vs unmanaged code) so I am back to the drawing board. Any help would be much appreciated. I was going to try QT.
