We recently bought F455 device and updated firmware. During the update we received information that stored face prints have to be deleted to continue with update. Probably because otherwise face prints created on older firmware would not be compatible with new firmware.
We assume it is possible to have face prints shared between multiple F455 devices. Based on information we received during firmware update we also assume that if we would have two F455 devices with different firmware versions, face prints stored on one device would not be compatible with firmware on other device. Therefore sharing between devices would not work.
1) Do we understand it correctly?
2) If answer to first question is yes: Is it possible to also downgrade firmware? Or is there some other solution to our business model?
We want to use F455 device as part of our attendance system solution. It means we will often deliver multiple PCs with F455 (with current version of firmware) to our customer companies. After some time our customer might want to order another PC with F455. But it also might be after few years from first order, therefore there probably will be newer version of firmware on F455 we will buy at that time (which would cause incompatibility between older devices and the new one).
Thank you for your answers, Martin Hochmal.
