How can I safely remove the D450 module for my D455 depth camera?

Hi Gkarametsis 1999  The data sheet document for RealSense 400 Series cameras recommends using double-sided thermal adhesive for bonding a heatsink to a depth module, so this is likely the mounting method used on the camera.

I am not aware of a heatsink removal procedure being attempted previously on RealSense cameras.  My research indicated though that a very common general method for separating adhesive-bonded heatsinks is to apply a hair dryer to the heatsink fins and then twist the heatsink off.

This is not a recommendation from me to perform the procedure, just information about how others have achieved it and doing so yourself carries the risk of breaking your camera.  At this point though the sales warranty on the camera is already invalidated by the disassembly.

    Thank you Sir.

I tried many times to remove the aluminium plate but the glue is so powerful, so it could cause significant damage in the module. For my opinion, the aluminium plate can't remove safely. Thank you again!!!

    You are very welcome!

The D450 depth module can be purchased individually from some Intel Authorized Distributor retailers.  Here are a couple of examples of such suppliers.
