Cannot update Realsense D457 (GMSL) firmware
Hi Intel,
I have a customer using the RS D457 on Jetson AGX Orin with our AGX201 carrier board and is having trouble updating the firmware of the camera. They were provided with a workaround for updating the FW by running the command:
cat Signed_Image_UVC_5_14_0_0.bin > /dev/d4xx-dfu504
However this returns the error "bash: /dev/d4xx-dfu504: Device or resource busy" for both the customer and us at CTI when testing it.
The customer has been notified by Intel that you think this is a possible MIPI driver issue in the BSP and I was hoping you could elaborate on what that issue might be.
Regards,
Taylor

Hi Tvonhausen There is a reference to the workaround that you described at the link below. Posting a help request as a comment on this page would be a recommendable way to seek the advice that you require.

In the current latest version 2.54.2 of the RealSense SDK Intel added support for updating the D457's firmware using the rs-fw-update firmware update tool. This may be an alternative option to the workaround that you could explore.

MartyG t I believe Tvonhausen was talking about the issue I brought up with Connect Tech a few weeks ago.
SDK v2.54.2's rs-fw-update hung on my setup when I tried to update the D457 over GMSL, so I had tried the workaround
cat Signed_Image_UVC_5_14_0_0.bin > /dev/d4xx-dfu504
which also hung
