Hi Pranavmp  Appendix A (pages 159-168) of the data sheet document for the RealSense 400 Series cameras provides information for integrating the Vision Processor D4 chip onto a motherboard, including the MIPI connectors.

    https://dev.intelrealsense.com/docs/intel-realsense-d400-series-product-family-datasheet

Pages 128-129 provide information about using a MIPI host interface instead of USB.

MIPI camera support was introduced in RealSense SDK 2.52.1 onwards.  It was designed for the D457 camera model with a GMSL / FAKRA connector.  D457 contains a D450 depth module and Vision Processor D4 V5.

A MIPI reference driver is required to use a D457 camera with the RealSense SDK on a MIPI interface instead of USB.  This driver was designed for use with D457 and the Jetson AGX Xavier board, so must be converted (ported) if used with your own choice of hardware components.

So we are using the D435if and our application is restricted by height and requires IP-protected enclosures. Therefore we were looking at integrating the D430 module and the processor with boards. Is that possible and can we get any support from your engineering team?

If you will be designing your own IP-rated enclosure then Intel provide a CAD file for the D430 module at the link below.

    https://dev.intelrealsense.com/docs/stereo-depth-camera-d400#cad-files

Pre-made cased cameras such as D435if can be used within a custom enclosure with a transparent window on the front though, like the example below from an underwater project.

Another possibility would be to use the new D456 model that is an IP65-protected D455 and add the D435if's CLAREX NIR-75N filter (which is purchasable separately from filter suppliers) externally over the front glass on the outside of the camera.

    Hi Marty,

Thanks for the reply. Engineers in our company had some questions. Is it possible to discuss this with your team?

I am not a member of the Intel RealSense Help Center support team (I volunteer here) but I will highlight your request for assistance to the Help Center team.
