RealSense SR300 series - Current Status
Hello, I hope you're well.
I'd like to know why the SR300 series isn't listed on the Intel RealSense website. Was it replaced by the D400 series?
Structured light is often said to be the most accurate technology for depth cameras. Are the D400 series performances similar then?

Hi Arthur Levisalles10 The RealSense SR300 camera model was retired years ago but continued to be supported by the RealSense SDK alongside the newer generation 400 Series stereo depth camera range until recently. SDK 2.50.0 was the last version with validated official support for SR300, and support continued without official validation until SDK 2.54.2.
Aside from one particular application where the SR300 coded light camera - coded light is similar to structured light - produced better images (the generation of solid mask scans of human faces), the 400 Series range of stereo depth cameras is technologically superior to SR300 and can provide excellent resuts. Because SR300 and 400 Series use different camera technologies (coded / structured light and stereo depth respectively), 400 Series depth images may look different to images produced with an SR300.
