D 455

Hi Maxxxcim What is the name of the error that occurs, please?
Where does the error happen? For example, when the camera is plugged in when using the RealSense Viewer tool?
-
It happened when it was turned on for the first time. In the intel RealSense Viewer v2.35.2 program, I was doing an update, the program downloaded up to 95% of the update, after that it gave an error that it could not reconnect RealSense. After restarting RealSense in the device manager, Unknown USB Device (Invalid Configuration Descriptor) is written as the state of the device. The system turned off this device because it reported a problem. (Code 43)
The USB device returned an invalid USB configuration descriptor. -
Support for the D455 model was not introduced until 2.38.1.
It sounds as though the 2.35.2 RealSense Viewer has installed a version of the camera firmware driver that is very old. D455 works with a minimum firmware version of 5.13.0.50, and installing an older firmware version than that unfortunately makes the camera unusable.
If you purchased the camera less than 30 days ago then the Intel RealSense Help Center has instructions at the link below for returning it to the retailer that you purchased it from.

Once the camera has become inoperable then there is no way for customers to update the firmware again to fix it because the camera cannot be accessed. If the camera was purchased less than 30 days ago then return to the place that you bought it from using the provided instructions will be the best option.
I cannot access customer equipment over a remote connection.

No, unfortunately this new message does not help to resolve the problem.
A fix by yourself would require purchasing a circuit board called the Vision Processor D4 V3 for around 45 dollars / euros, opening up the camera and changing the old D4 board for the new one. This will likely invalidate the sales warranty of the camera.
So if you have only just purchased the camera, it is better to return the camera and get a replacement for free. If there is no way to return the camera for some reason then a D4 board replacement becomes worth considering.
If you would like a second opinion then I would recommend making a new post on this Intel RealSense Help Center site about your problem and waiting for a member of the Help Center team to respond to it. I am only a volunteer here and are not a member of the Help Center team.

The Vision Processor D4 V3 board is available from the Intel Authorized parts supplier Rutronik24
