Question about the D435 camera
I have the D435 camera and I want to know if the camera can detect moving objects and detect location of the moving object? I have a axe throwing company. My target is made of elastic strips. My axe is foam and travels through my elastic strips where it hits a backboard and falls down into a bin. I want to know if this particular camera can detect where it enters the elastic target in order to score the target. If that makes sense, how do I go about doing so?

Hi Bamamom72109 The D435 camera can process depth information for objects travelling as fast as a car on the road.

It can also capture the depth of horizontally or vertically arranged bars, so it should also be able to capture horizontal or vertical strips if the strips are wide enough. If the strips were thinner than a pencil then they may not be included in the depth image.
If the foam axe always has to pass through a certain area of the straps in order to hit the backboard then perhaps you could monitor the depth value of a coordinate in that area and award a point if the depth value significantly changes from its usual value (indicating that the strap has been deflected by the axe), assuming that the camera is in a fixed position that is always the same distance from the strap.
