Using D435i for Tracking the Movement of Subtle Surface Features

Hello,

I am interested in using the D435i camera to track subtle surface features (for example on a person's skin) and using that data to keep a robotic arm centered over the same point over that surface. I would appreciate if anyone has advice on whether this is possible with the D435i, and if so what would be the general approach to coding this application?
