How to get actual Infra Red image with 415
Hi !
Has anyone managed to get an actual IR image without any of the visible light ?
The example in the SDK (Unity wrapper) is a mix of both I think as I can read the print on books that I hold in front of the camera.
I've tried to create an IR pass filter by holding strips of black exposed developed film in front of it but I don't see much difference.
ok cheers folks x

You may achieve a darker image if you disable the IR Emitter component of the camera. This can be done in the RealSense Viewer or with scripting. If you plan to use the camera with Unity, below is a link to a code sample in the C# language for turning the emitter off and on.
I ran some tests of an IR view of book text with the IR emitter enabled (the upper image) and turned off (the lower image).
You can of course also use mechanical means such as IR filter materials applied in front of the lense to change the properties of the light going into the imager. You may find the discussion in the link below useful in regard to exploring that possbility.
