D457 and GMSL FAKRA
Hi,
I need to acquire point clouds from 6 (six) D457. No synchronization needed, each point cloud is processed independently - but they should all be processed by the same PC.
The maximum distance between a D457 and the PC is 12 m.
Is it possbile? What could be the layout of the GMSL/FAKRA connections?
Thank you & best regards

Hi Daniele,
D457 Hardware Synchronization illustrates synchronization methods when multiple D457 cameras are being used on one system.

Hi Munesh, thank you for your reply.
Anyway, as said in my original post, synchronization is not my concern at present. I am rather trying to figure out if and how several D457 (six in my case, in a range of max 12m from the hub) could be connected via GMSL/FAKRA, what would be the layout and the needed hardware, if a "normal" PC with Windows 11 could be used or if I need some nvidia box, how could be the power supply, and so on.
The document you linked is interesting but it does not cover such questions - the example it presents considers only two D457.
Thank you in advance for any further information and best regards.

Dear Daniele Lugli,
Since you need to connect six Intel® RealSense™ Depth Camera D457, you will need a platform that supports up to six GMSL camera interfaces. The following are a few platforms that support up to eight Intel® RealSense™ Depth Camera D457:
For supported operating systems and power supply on the platforms above, please reach out to their technical support team.
Best regards,
Wan
