D435if IR-Pass Filter Removal

Is it possible to remove the IR-pass filter on the d435if - to effectively turn it into a d435i? Will there be a significant impact on performance?

Removing the IR-pass filter from the D435if is not recommended. If you remove the IR-pass filter, then you will void the warranty.
