more noise at 1 m distance than 0.5 m
Hi,
I was wondering why the L515 shows more noise when scanning an object at 1meter distance than at 0.5 m. There was no sunlight in the room, the same presets were used (Short range and no ambient light). In both cases there was more noise at 1m than at 0.5m. (the object is a billiard ball)

Thank you for contacting us.
This might be due to the short range preset. This preset lower the laser power and gain so that close objects do not oversaturate the receiver. This allows operation at a close distance to objects. This setting may not be good if objects further away in the scene also need to perform well.
Note that the depth-sensing of the L515 works best in low-light conditions, the less light the better.
